Princeton Review Recognized Winthrop as ‘Best University in the Southeast

ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — Praised for its diverse student body and beautiful campus, Winthrop University is again considered among the “Best in the Southeast” by the Princeton Review.

    Other notable mentions in Winthrop’s profile were the university’s cultural event requirement, Division I sports teams, professors’ availability and the Lois Rhame West Health, Physical Education and Wellness Center.

    Winthrop President Dan Mahony said he is pleased that the Princeton Review has again noted what makes Winthrop unique and reflects the value of the Winthrop experience.

    The Princeton Review compiles its list based on institutional data collected directly from the colleges, visits to schools, input from college counselors and the opinions of the Princeton Review’s staff. Students rated their own schools and answered questions about themselves, their peers and campus life. Schools selected by the publication as “Best Colleges” are considered “academically outstanding and well worth consideration.”

    The schools in the “2020 Best Colleges: Region by Region” list also are rated in six categories – academics, admissions selectivity, financial aid, fire safety, quality of life and green adaptability.
